North of Norquay extends the massive Porcupine Provincial Forest. This southern boreal (mixed wood) forest spans 1,459,929 acres and contains a wildlife management unit, community pasture, two provincial historic park markers, a national historic site and four recreation sites. Hunting is permitted under provisions of The Game Act. Wildlife abounds in this beautiful and undeveloped part of the province. McBride, Pepaw, Townsend, Woody and Whitefish are just a few of the lakes nestled in The Porcupine Hills, just 1-1/2 hours drive from Norquay. Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Trout and Walleye are the main varieties of sports fish caught in the area. Snowmobile enthusiasts will enjoy the excitement of riding our beautifully groomed trails that wind for miles through the valleys and forests to the north.
