Be a Part of the Future
A New Tourist-Destination Hotel
Will
Create Economic Opportunity
For
Norquay Residents Past and Present
In 2003, the Norquay Chamber of Commerce along with community residents
identified the priority need for a new hotel. Economic growth in the local
tourism industry is being missed because there is no hotel offering adequate
space or services to support new visitor-oriented businesses.
With a new hotel capable of hosting up to 100 guests, businesses catering to
hunters, fishermen, wedding parties, conference groups and a wide variety of
other potential clients would see a significant expansion of opportunity.
Building such a facility would take place in four major phases:
Phase 1: Contract a professional feasibility study.
Phase 2: Complete a business plan, draft blueprint and formal prospectus
Phase 3: Seek private/institutional investment for the project.
Phase 4: Construct the hotel.
The Chamber recognizes that raising the necessary fund to complete the hotel
will mean attracting private investment. Ideally, private investors will be
found who will assume full ownership – In essence, the Chamber would prefer
to simply lay out a profitable plan for someone else to execute privately.
The Chamber is also interested in partnerships with private interests.
In either case, successful fundraising will depend on the excellence of the
tasks outlined in the first three phases.
The costs for Phase 1 will be minimal, in the area of $5,000. While publicly
funded grants are being investigated, it is clear that the majority of the
money will have to be raised by town residents and others who desire to see
Norquay succeed in its future as it always has in its past.
The Norquay Chamber of Commerce invites you to be part of this exciting
project with a contribution to the fulfillment of Phase 1. And, please,
