The Town of Norquay is served by the Kamsack Detachment
of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The detachment consists
of 18 members divided into 3 units; rural, municipal and First
Nations. In addition there is a Victim Service Unit as well as
support staff. In an emergency situation dial 9-1-1.
The Town of Norquay has a Volunteer Fire Brigade. The department is always upgrading their
equipment and knowledge of firefighting techniques. These same volunteers provide protection for the
Norquay and District Rural Fire Association which is an inter-municipal agreement providing protection
to surrounding Rural Municipalities and Villages.
The town of Norquay is a member of the Canora and District Mutual Aid Area,
Emergency Measures Organization,
and Rescue Unit Organization which has 13 member municipalities. The Town is also a member of the Sturgis
and District Mutual Aid Emergency Measures Organization which has 10
members. The above two organizations, which provide cross protection
for the Norquay area are locally coordinated by an Emergency Measures
Organization Coordinator appointed by Town Council. Councilor Jay Prekaski is currently appointed to this
position.
